HOONIGAN – [Xavier Wulf] & [Quintin Lamb]

Listening to your favorite artist is one thing but seeing them live is an entirely different experience. Just think back to a time when you had religiously played their music day after day, and when you found out that they were going to be performing in your town, you knew you had to be there. Then, the day finally comes and you’re able to see them, rage in the crowd with them and a group of other die-hard fans, and form this unforgettable memory while listening to your favorite songs live and in person.

For me, that’s what music is all about, and it’s those concerts that are memories I will cherish for a lifetime. I had to set this scene because when I found out that Xavier Wulf was going on his “Midnight Club Tour – DUB Edition” with Eddy Baker, Idontknowjeffery, and Mikey Rotten, I knew that this was going to be a show you needed to see.

His latest project GARAGE PUNK might have only been 5 songs long, but it was full of absolute bangers, and while I’m sure he’ll run through this EP while on tour, I couldn’t wait to talk about his brand-new Quintin Lamb-directed music video for the project’s opening cut “HOONIGAN” which came as a little gift alongside the announcement of the tour. Being a fan of Xavier’s for years, I wasn’t surprised to see his inclusion of his love for cars in this video once again.

While he smokes blunts and peppers his ruthless lyrics into the camera lens, other whips drag race, do donuts, and cruise around, making this visual seem to be as much of an advertisement as it is a music video. Seeing Xavier Wulf live is something you should definitely have on your bucket list, and while the music video for “HOONIGAN” is incredible once again, I have to recommend trying to go and see him perform the record live because it’s surely going to be an unforgettable experience.
