Hood Trophy – [Mackk & Company] [Rucci] [Peysoh] & [KingMostWanted]

If you’re not living in certain parts of the country, it can be difficult to stay tapped in with the underground artists coming from those cities, so the only real way to stay up to date is by having homies who won’t let you miss out on amazing music. Coming from Chicago, I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the local scene here, and I only know about certain regions across the US because my friends always send the hottest street anthems through, and I am forever grateful.

In Los Angeles, the scene is as diverse and dense as it gets, and Mackk & Company is certainly putting together a winning roster. The LA-based label has boasted some of the city’s hottest up-and-comers, and their latest song “Hood Trophy” features some of the hottest newcomers in the game. Rucci is the only emcee I recognize on this track and I’m a big fan, but Peysoh and KingMostWanted are two talents that thoroughly impressed me, and I’m stoked to get to listen to more of their music.

Peysoh gained traction after his No Jumper interview and has amassed millions of streams on various tracks while King has dropped countless viral tracks prior to even being featured on the soundtrack for the ninth Fast & Furious movie. On this song, Rucci takes over the hook with an inspiring and infectious cadence that makes you want to get up, move, and match his energy. Peysoh’s verse is contagious because even though he stays pretty calm and composed, his buttery smooth lines just roll off his tongue naturally.

King ties everything together for the final verse, matching Peysoh’s energy while including various wordplays and references that are clever, sometimes comical, but always well thought out. The Ordinary Visions music video adds another entertaining element to this overall release, so whether you’re familiar with the soon-to-blow talents brought to you by Mackk & Company on this record, it’s one of the most appealing things you’ll hear all day.
