If you’ve followed along with my writing since 2018, then you’d know that one of my favorite artists of all time is someone who goes by the name of emawk. The Boston-born, Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter/producer inspires me each time I listen to his music. From the moment I came across him, it was evident that the way he carries himself and cares for his music is unlike anyone in the music industry. I don’t use the word “genius” lightly and I firmly believe that emawk deserves that title whenever he comes up in conversation. Every single one of his pieces is intentional, thoughtful and creative which allows it to stand out in front of anything that I see on a regular basis.
Today, emawk and his team continue their hot streak with the release of two new songs and a visual to go along with it. In typical fashion, this up and comer shines from start to finish in each of these. “HIGHROAD” and “BEADS” are the latest masterpieces that you have to peep ASAP. Both offerings are extremely compelling and continue to make the case for emawk being one of the most important artists in the industry right now.
The most stunning part of all of this has to be the video that was done by Coming of Age. Visually, it is utterly stunning and assumes a life of its own in every way, shape and form. From the moment you start it up, you’ll be glued to the screen. The dancers that are present add their own flare to it as well to round out an already impressive piece.
