Landon Cube has been a fan favorite at Lyrical Lemonade for years and years, but even I didn’t realize what kind of massive career he was going to have, and I believe that he purposely doesn’t have his foot even halfway down on the gas pedal yet, so when that happens, it’s going to be insane to see what he is able to do throughout his career. I mean, he basically started out, at least from what I saw, like most others, making music on his own wherever and whenever he could, knowing that his talents would be recognized sooner or later.
Sure, his friend (Cam Haller) had a wildly strong YouTube presence, but I could tell that Landon didn’t want to become famous as “that guy who’s friends with Cam from Cufboys” because he knew his legacy was supposed to be cemented on his own, and not through someone else, even if it was one of his best friends. Well, it is obvious that there was something brewing in the waters of Maryland because Landon turned into the Rockstar he was always meant to be, Cam is still living it up as an influencer in the music scene, and the third side on this talent-filled triangle, Jonny has built an unbelievably massive brand which you might know as Ransom Clothing Co.
Although I love seeing and talking about what these three friends have built both together and individually, it’s probably best that I get onto the main event which is Landon’s brand-new song and visual “GONE” because it’s yet another perfect example of why Landon is where he is today. I already knew this video was going to be insane when I talked to director Sam McGrath who gave me a bit of a teaser, but nothing ever truly compares to the finished product, and I was blown away yet again.
Taking things overseas to cities that Landon specified on his Instagram to be Barcelona, Paris, Venice, and Rome, we are given some absolutely stunning backdrops to pop behind Landon’s already enthralling personality. So many different directorial strategies, creative edits, smooth transitions, and plenty of natural settings all combine to create one of my favorite solo visuals from Landon yet. Landon has done it yet again with his song “GONE”, and Sam McGrath unsurprisingly crushed the video per usual, so considering this duo seems to be unbeatable when they’re together, that just means you should give yourself no choice but to tune in immediately!
