Go! – [Fifty Grand and Mike Frost] x [SEBii]

Red Mirror Records have always done things differently — and that is truly meant in practically all of the best ways imaginable. The now-iconic label has produced track after track with the accompaniment of some equally-iconic acts that have not just paved the way for a great deal of the modern music landscape we see today, but have also set the bar for the sheer quality and utter intuitive nature of these modern songs as they come to drop time after time.

That progressive and divergent spirit certainly rings true in both Fifty Grand and Mike Frost — two purveyors of the label itself, both from a strictly business and/or promotional standpoint, and also through their eclectic approach to the actual music behind it all itself. With Fifty Grand being the founder of the label, and Mike Frost being an incredibly notable and influential name through his production alone, the two are an undeniably resounding duo when placed next to each other.

The two have just recently teamed up for a new single via their aforementioned label with “Go!” — a track that does nothing else but exude that exceptionally vivid progressive methodology when it comes to dropping singles.

The song is built around an extremely entertaining and all-encompassing guest appearance from SEBii, as he comes to deliver some absolutely gripping and appealing verses throughout the track’s entire runtime — a feat that stands as nothing short of the norm for this ever-so-captivating act time and time again.

But where this track truly stands out is what both Fifty Grand and Mike Frost do with SEBii’s verses as the song proceeds. The duo treats this song as an entirely one-of-a-kind experience, with its slow build-up to a number of different instrumental passages and intricacies surrounding the given verses. Though the track begins in a subdued fashion, it eventually evolves into this raucous and momentous state that features various instrumental facets building and building upon each other, with even portions of SEBii’s voice being chopped and effect-ridden to the point where it is essentially used as an instrument in itself.

Once the track concludes, it becomes abundantly clear that this is without question one of the most exhilarating, exceptional, and wholly unique singles to be released this year. But in knowing the three individuals on the track and their own respective pasts, along with the corresponding status of the label that is at their disposal, it makes quite a lot of sense as to how and why this track came about in the first place, and performed as well as it did in the process.
