When Vince Staples speaks we listen. The North California MC has returned with not only a new album, titled, FM! but already the first accompanying music video. His newest video for “FUN!” is a creative use of Google Earth, utilizing the software’s “street view,” Vince allows viewers to follow him in a day in the life of a Northside Long Beach resident. The camera effects capture Vince spectating a fight, shooting a music video and witnessing an arrest all within the span of an afternoon. More than just a creative idea, the video’s conclusion, in true Vince fashion, ends with a stark example of exploitation of Black culture in America. The surprise release of the album and video leaves us giddy for what else Vince Staples has in store for us.
