Forever Thuggin’ – [Baby Jamo]

Washington, DC has unquestionably been one of my favorite cities to watch sprout a budding new rap scene powered almost exclusively by young people in the city and suburbs who have supported the various artists that compose the scene and many of them have been able to break out and capture national attention. Baby Jamo has been my favorite of these artists recently in the city because of his cut-throat and dishearteningly real lyrics and distinct thick DC drawl that has only helped endear him to his hometown more. Unfortunately Jamo is going through some legal situations currently and is in jail but he has been faithfully updating his quickly growing fanbase via social media and even dropping music like his latest visual for his track “Forever Thuggin” where Jamo turns up over a categorically DMV beat, powered by a simple piano loop and staccato percussion that lends itself perfectly for Jamo to walk over. Clockwork Productions brought this video to life much like the hundreds of other DMV-area rappers he has helped execute their vision and propel them closer to stardom due to the large and continually growing platform he has created. Hopefully Baby Jamo is released soon and will continue to release music because we all cannot wait until he comes home.
