After a long week at Summer Smash, I am happy to be back on the site introducing the Lyrical Lemonade audience to Canadian artists that get overlooked due to coming up north of the border. Today we have Yurms, an incredibly talented artist that is able to sing, rap, and produce at high levels. He first caught my attention with 2018’s “ididthisforyou” single that perfectly captures his ability to craft verses that are both self-reflective and self-doubtful, all the while providing hooks incredibly raw with emotion.
On his latest single, “Fell For This”, Yurms jumps back and forth between singing and rapping as you may notice is a trend in his music. This is a welcomed return as Yurms has remained largely silent on dropping music outside of a few SoundCloud exclusives. The production on this track matches Yurms’ vibe completely, understated strings provided by Hollow and Skressa.
