The rise of Cuco can be heavily attributed to his ability to put his own character into his music, coloring his mesmerizing ballads in with personal, genuine songwriting since he first started releasing music in 2015. Now, the west-coast native is about to release his first project since signing with Interscope, and as the title might suggest, ‘Para Mi’ could be Cuco’s most personal chapter yet.
Cuco stopped by Beats 1 Radio today to premiere the album’s second single, “Feelings”. The song exists in the hazy, lo-fi climate that Cuco’s music naturally thrives in while integrating a vintage funk bass line and horns that sound straight out of the 70s. He layers his vocals on the track’s hook, making for a dizzying listening experience as he longs for someone to hear him open his heart up.
