Family Feud – [Lil Wayne] ft. [Drake]

Fresh off the release of his well-received new mixtape, Dedication 6, the New Orleans legend, Lil Wayne, is back on our pages alongside Drake for a remix of “Family Feud” off of JAY-Z’s latest album, 4:44. When I checked my Twitter feed last night and saw this, I honestly thought it was fake for a second. Wayne and Drake back together?? On a JAY-Z beat?! Thankfully, this is very much real and both artists went their absolute hardest over the soulful No I.D. production. Drake, among references to Colin Kaepernick, Donald Trump, and Lil Wayne and Birdman’s label situation, even speaks on Meek Mill’s prison sentence in the track, saying, “Too long, like a sentence from a Philly judge/Fuck is the point in all the beef, when we really blood.” It’s refreshing to hear both Wayne and Drake really rap for a minute and clear the air on a lot of things, and although it’s an incredibly bold move to attempt a take on a JAY-Z beat, I honestly think they did it justice. Listen for yourself, though, and click play on “Family Feud” below.
