By no surprise, Atlanta has been the home of the superstars for well over half a decade now. It seems like there is a new artist emerging from the city every hour of the day now, and if not, they’re definitely cooking up and preparing to be outed to the world. Atlanta-based artist 5AM has been seen on the Lyrical Lemonade platform a couple of times now–most recently for his TM88 assisted single “Track Meet”. Today, he is back on the platform premiering his smooth and sultry visuals for his single “Falsetto”.
5AM is an artist that while has done some pretty amazing things, is still pretty under the radar when it comes to recognition. Of course, we know a lot of the best artists go unnoticed for a while until it’s their time. In this case, the bit of mystique fits his persona and makes the music more enjoyable to a certain extent. Utilizing lots of deep synths, heavy 808’s and soothing auto-tuned vocals, 5AM coincidentally enough showcases his Falsetto to really strike the listeners core and gather them into his world. His recent project You’re Going To Be Fine is freshly released and filled with more vibes similar to the ones here on “Falsetto”. With the moves he is making, it’s safe to say he’s going to be in the big leagues very soon. From a short exchange with 5AM, he had this to say about the direction of “Falsetto” and his new project:
“This project in particular was a special one–we used a lot of live instruments. I feel like the music carries a certain frequency that makes you feel good. ‘Falsetto’ in particular was one of those songs that puts in you a trance & you get lost in the sounds and almost forget those problems you’re going through. I spoke a lot about being alone on this tape and finding inner peace–that’s something that’s very important for the mind. Rest and relaxation.”
