Extortion – [whiterosemoxie]

There are plenty of artists out there that I thoroughly enjoy, but I just can’t quite keep up with every single thing they release because I just have too much going on. While I may eventually get around to listening, I don’t necessarily make it a priority to tune in because unless I hear about the song from someone else who says I absolutely need to tap in, I figure that it’s not the end of the world if I don’t have a chance to listen.

At the same time, though, there are a select few emcees that I make a point to listen to anything and everything new that they put out, and Detroit’s very own whiterosemoxie is one of those people. I admittedly wasn’t necessarily in on his bandwagon on the ground floor, but I’m glad I hopped on before he reached the penthouse because now, I feel like I am hip to one of the most captivating emcees in the entire industry, so I know that I will never waste a second of my time when before I tune in to any of his songs or videos.

When moxie hit me up the other week and told me that he was going to be dropping his record “Extortion”, I admittedly lost sleep in anticipation of how awesome this track was going to be, and now that it is out, I know for a fact that those Zs I missed out on were more than worth it. The song is yet another highly energetic, addicting record full of synths and out-of-this-world bars, and even though it doesn’t even make it to the one-and-a-half-minute mark, it is one of the best things I’ve heard all week.

Even the Jay Cribbs and wangfilms-directed music videos had me on the edge of my seat, and while it might not be the most animation-filled or effect-ridden video that he has ever put out, it is still entirely inebriating, and I was more than happy with the result after the wait. If you’re somehow late to the party when it comes to whiterosemoxie, now is the perfect opportunity to tap in, so make sure to peep his latest release “Extortion” as soon as you possibly can.
