Sally Boy just dropped his debut EP and outside of the election, I believe it is the only thing we should be talking about. Ever since stepping on the scene earlier this year, the Philadelphia native has quickly made himself known as one of the most, if not THE most promising artist of the year. With songs like “Sally Boy”, “Stormy” and “Sippy Cup”, the up and comer has undoubtedly proven that his ability to create amazing music is no fluke, but rather a God-given talent that we get to benefit from.
If Sally Boy was to never drop any more music, the three songs we have by him would be enough, but thank goodness he loves his supporters, because today he just dropped a seven song EP that will fulfill you in every single way. “EREZ” (his first name) is the project that has restored my hope in collections of songs like these. Whenever an arts releases an EP or Album, there’s always the reality that some of the songs will be great, while a couple of average ones may sneak in. With “EREZ”, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Sally Boy and his team have created a body of work that embodies the closest thing to perfection that I’ve ever seen. From song one to song seven, there is truly not one reason to skip. Each piece reveals a different side of Sally Boy both artistically and stylistically while contributing to the project’s overall theme.
Putting Sally Boy into a specific genre would be a disservice to his artistry as he does everything so well. He sings, raps and in every sense, entertains. I’ve seen many artists come and go, but I’m a firm believer that Sally Boy is here to stay for a long time and this EP is extensive proof. “EREZ” is out everywhere and I couldn’t be happier. I’m not sure what all of you are up to today, but please please please take time out of your day to listen to this project from start to finish. I’ve attached the Spotify link down below, so give this one a spin and let us know what you think! Enjoy!
