Production is a lost art. These days, songs are being strung together by lackluster compositions and bare minimum beats, but yet we praise it like it’s real music. In an industry that is being constantly flooded with copy cat producers, it’s so important to keep a look out for the ones who are not only doing it right but the ones who are doing it at a level that exceeds excellence. I mean, what’s the point of listening to music if it isn’t excellent?
Today, I’m excited to bring some fresh excellence onto our pages. Making his Lyrical Lemonade debut is a producer named Sebastian Kamae. I’m not sure what took me so long to discover this talent, but I’m so glad that I did. The 22 year old Amsterdam native has been killing the game lately and it’s imperative that everyone takes notice. Like I said earlier, Sebastian falls into the career of producers who are creating at an excellent level. Just recently, he released an album that showcases all of his skill sets in the most complete way possible. The album, entitled, “Enjoy the Ride” is a 15 song project that will have you wondering how it’s possible for something like this to be that good. The various sounds and instruments that are utilized throughout every song are just a reflection of Sebastian’s meticulous approach when it comes to music.
I was able to grab a quote from the rising chart topper as he was able to shed some more light on the project. He explained, “I made the album ‘Enjoy the Ride’ over the coarse of a year and recorded almost all vocals during a 5 week trip to Chicago in april/may 2019. The concept was to show my journey and the beauty of Chicago and the differences with Amsterdam and work with as many upcoming artists from the city as possible. It features artists like Femdot, Khary, Qari, Melo Makes Music and many more. It combines my main genre ‘lo-fi hiphop beats’ with oldschool and modern hiphop, R&B, soul, jazz and electronic music.”
On top of the production being amazing, the well rounded cast of support that Sebastian enlisted help from us second to none. This is a project that a lot of people will fall in love with and I’m so hype that I get to share it with y’all. I’ve attached the link to “Enjoy the Ride” down below so give it a listen and let us know what you think!
