Kaytranada may be fresh off of co-producing Bishop Nehru’s latest project Elevators: Act I & II, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have more big things in store for 2018. The supremely talented producer is back again today with a little bit of a teaser for fans who are eagerly waiting for the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2016 debut studio album 99.9%. On “Do We Have A Problem?” Kaytranada showcases his genre-defying skill, as he blends boom-bap percussion with vibrating baselines and groovy synths (not to mention a little James Brown). Never one for repetition, he even throws in a bit of something new from time-to-time to switch up the pace. It all culminates in the creation of an inviting, lush instrumental that will have listeners eagerly licking their chops for more. The SoundCloud description for the track reads “Please do not repost this,” but I’m going to have to disagree with that sentiment. Check out “Do We Have A Problem?” below and let us know your thoughts on this wicked new tune from Kaytranada in the comments.
