I wish I could give you a comprehensive history of the stylings of LL newcomer, Devin More, but truthfully, his new project, Dear Amoré, is the first I’m hearing of him. While I’m still in the midst of getting to know the nook and crannies project, I had to share it because even just a few listens in, it’s clear he has a ton of talent, a strong vision, and a unique sound.
Handling a bulk of the production himself (seven of the eight tracks) More creates a dense, atmospheric environment loaded with synths. The synth-heavy landscape really lets him get dynamic with his vocals. At times it feels like a rap project (“Blame”) but he ventures into the R&B world (“Adelah, My Good Friend”) and at times he gives off some dreamy pop vibes that even have a subtle 80’s feel (“Ashley” & “Love Story). Even with some different, exploratory sounds, he is able to keep things cohesive and as a result, Dear Amoré a really strong, fluid project.
Standout cuts: “Never Switch,” “Cut The Check,” & “Heart On Your Sleeve”
