Breakin’ Me – [Tink]

We’ve been anticipating new Tink for a minute now. Since dropping the latest installment to her “Winter’s Diary” mixtape series in 2016, the artist pegged as one of Chicago’s most promising talents has remained relatively quiet. This Valentine’s Day, Tink made it clear that she’s back in full effect by dropping the new music video for her single which came out in January, “Breakin’ Me.”

Don’t be mistaken–although this video dropped at a time associated with love, this track is not a love song. Explicitly calling out her man for cheating, Tink takes on the persona of a ferocious ex who’s fed up with playing games. “It’s a shame, I don’t know if I should kill or expose him,” she raps with a conviction that lets you know she really means it. The video, directed by AZaeProduction, captures this fit of beautiful rage, underscored by Tink’s illustrious bars and melodies. Tink has no doubt proven she has the skills needed to be at the top of the game, and with this triumphant single under her belt, hopefully 2018 will be the year she gets the recognition she deserves.
