Blue – [Zaia]

Within the sea of new music that hits the internet every day, one deeply valuable piece of advice that I’d give to any artist is to separate themselves from the pack by curating a strong aesthetic to match the art itself. Quite often, I find that I remember certain music or artists by their respective aesthetics, and thinking of the impact that this has on me as a listener, I can definitely attest to the fact that it makes a given song or album worlds more identifiable in the long run. Today, perfecting just this, I’m happy to present an artist by the name of Zaia with his brand new visual release, “Blue.”

Even by itself, “Blue” is an impressive offering. Zaia’s impassioned vocals bounce seamlessly alongside the dance-infused animation of the instrumental, and furthermore, the immaculate guitar solo perfectly washes over the echo of his vocals right near the end of the track, creating a decadent musical moment in the process. However, rather than stopping there and leaving “Blue” as the solid song that it is, the music video decides to take this offering one step further.

Most prominently, this video utilizes the power of coloring by matching the aesthetic of each scene to the emotions evoked by the music at any given moment. Consequently, “Blue” is masterfully breathed full of new life, and Zaia’s performance on the track feels just that much more impactful when it has such an impressive, fitting visual companion as its complement.

With this in mind, it’s easy to see why aesthetics are such an integral part of creating memorable art. Be sure to enjoy “Blue” below and honestly, for any artists out there who may be reading this, use Zaia’s fantastic new release as a reference. “Blue” hits the nail right on the head in each and every way!
