Blow It – [Benny Soliven] x [Joe Maynor] feat. [1TakeJay]

The Bay Area stays undefeated when it comes to delivering music that gives off that West Coast bounce and high energy. It’s always a great thing to see that the new generation of rappers emerging from the Bay Area is keeping that energy alive, and continuing to carry on the Hyphy movement that has been created years ago. Another great thing about The Bay Area, is that they love to pay homage to those before them as well. Tons of new age rappers sampled and did covers of amazing classic records from West Coast artists over the years, and this joint is another example of that. Sampling Too $hort’s “Blow The Whistle”, Benny Soliven is back on the Lyrical Lemonade platform with Joe Maynor for their new video “Blow It” featuring 1TakeJay.

Benny and Joe have been doing collabs for a while now, so to see them do a tape together was only a matter of time and inevitable. Just last month, they released their project Joe & Benny, and it has been going crazy ever since. Benny states that the inspiration behind the cover art of the tape being a recreation of the iconic Will Ferrell & John C. Reilly movie Step Brothers, was a direct reflection of them being a dynamic duo. The leading single “2X” featuring Phora currently almost has 500k views on YouTube, and is still climbing to this day. Visual treatment for their new single “Blow It” take place in a school gym during an all women’s basketball game. Benny & Joe trade verses alongside a fire feature from another West Coast up and coming artist 1TakeJay over a classic flip of “Blow The Whistle”.
