Beluga Baby-[Baird]

If you’re looking for some great vibes on this beautiful Thursday afternoon, Baltimore native artist, Baird has all of them in abundance. Making it onto our pages today for the release of his brand new song, “Beluga Baby”, Baird is beginning to gain some attention grabbing traction that will most definitely culminate in an impressive career filled with great music. Being from the DMV area myself, it’s always exciting to see artists from my neck of the woods making fire music. The now LA-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter has his eyes set on big things as he’s gearing up to roll out more music starting with this new one that surfaced yesterday.

“Beluga Baby” is 2 minutes and 40 seconds of pure fun. Infused with an infectious guitar strum, the whole entire song moves and grooves in a way that will get you on your feet. If you plan on making a long drive, make sure this song is on repeat for the majority of it. From the Brazilian-Pop inspiration all the way down to the west coast synth and drum machines, Baird has created an cohesive piece that will spark the interest of any listener despite their individual music taste. The inclusivity of this song is the best part about it as it opens up the door for tastemakers and fans alike to get on board the Baird hype train. I was able to grab some insight about the song “Beluga Baby” and the rising star explained:

“’Beluga Baby’ is a love song I wrote to a car. Last spring, my friend lent me her ’98 Subaru Forrester to use for the summer. She was living in NYC and I drove the car (named Beluga) down from the city to Baltimore. I had recorded the guitar lick in my voice memos and after playing around with it in my studio room, I came up with the hook. When I wrote the last line, it dawned on me that the song might as well be written to my partner for the summer, the car. I imagined a world in which I lived in Los Angeles and rode around in Beluga with the radio blaring.”

If you thought this treat was over, I’m happy to let y’all know that on top of the song being stellar, Baird, decided to drop a visual for it as well. The music video follows Baird as he rides and cruises around the city streets in the most extravagant fashion ever. If you thought the song was good, wait until you see this video! I’ve attached it down below, so make sure you vibe out to “Beluga Baby” before the day ends! Enjoy!
