If you’ve been following my writing at all over the past couple of years, it shouldn’t come as a surprise at all that I’m a massive fan of BIGBABYGUCCI. He’s simply one of the best in the underground, and I’d even consider him an originator without a second thought because, without him, so many of these new up-and-comers wouldn’t have the guidance they need to truly make a statement in music. While I’m still obsessed with his latest project 1 Night I Took Acid and I listen to it at least a few times per week, I’m also just pumped to see he’s continuing the fun with some awesome music videos.

Luckily, one of my favorite songs off the album “Before Us” just received a visual treatment with a little help from Reel Bump who directs most of GUCCI’s videos, so I knew it was going to be a banger regardless. As things start up, GUCCI and his girl are having fun taking some Polaroid pictures inside of a very vibrant, colorful room full of different shapes and patterns that bring us back to the ’70s or ’80s.

After this, some introductory credits start up playing off of the theme of Grand Theft Auto, so this was a little Easter egg that I thought was an incredible touch. Once the beat drops, we’re shown a plethora of Polaroid pictures that are strewn about on the table before things are taken to a scene where he and his girl paint on an all-white backdrop, complementing the theme of the video but also kind of accenting the theme of the cover art of the project.

As we move on, we see various different angles and parts of the very vibrant room as GUCCI and his lady wear period-accurate clothing that brings things to another level once again. Beyond this, there are a few effects and additions that make this video look even more as if it came straight out of the decades that I mentioned before, tying together beautifully for yet another unforgettable music video from the underground phenom.

I’ve spoken time and time again about how highly I regard BIGBABYGUCCI’s music, and while I feel like he never truly gets the love or praise that he so rightfully deserves, he’s making a legacy for himself that won’t soon be forgotten by his fans. He’s just such a one-of-a-kind artist who can kind of do it all seemingly with ease and I’m going to be as big of a supporter as possible as long as he doesn’t take his foot off the gas. While I can’t wait to see what other music videos or new singles he’s going to put out in the coming months, I highly suggest you check out his latest music video for his song “Before Us” below.
