I know that there are still a ton of underground artists that I either know nothing about or people that I have a lot of listening to do in order to keep up with the unbelievable things they’re working on, but some people are just truly so talented that I make their music a priority. Kelo of Dopeness is a fan favorite here at Lyrical Lemonade considering we often work closely with him, but his music speaks for itself, so don’t get it twisted when I proclaim just how dope he truly is.
Kaidontrap is someone who I have only somewhat recently become acquainted with thanks to his close work with Kelo, and as far as everything I’ve seen so far from this dynamic duo, there is nothing that they could make that would sound anything even close to subpar. Just the other day, this tag team dropped a brand-new record called “Bean”, and not only is the track absolutely addicting, but the Taylow-directed music video also makes this offering even better as they vibe out during an eventful night at a carnival.
The song itself boasts production from Mahkai Parker who gifts them with an unforgettable foundation that is fast-paced, bouncy, and straight-up invigorating, and these two match the vibe with ease. Kaidon has the first verse, showing off his relaxed cadence that just oozes swagger, and then Kelo comes in to take things to the next level with a myriad of impeccable lyrics rotating flows, and shows off an unexplainable amount of personality per usual.
What really drives this track home for me personally, though, is Kelo’s hook, because it is simply the catchiest piece of music I’ve heard in quite some time. Even though I’m sitting here alone writing, I couldn’t help but bob my head and hum along after hearing it the first time through. Kaidontrap and Kelo of Dopeness aren’t just here to stay, they’re here to make an unignorable movement with their craft, and I am definitely proud to be able to witness it first-hand as they continue to put out bangers like “Bean”!
