BBL – [Juicy J] & [Pi’erre Bourne]

There always seems to be this weird tension between old-school emcees and the new generation of artists, but the disconnect never really appears to be amongst the musicians themselves. It’s always the old head fans who hate on anything that’s new because it’s not what they grew up on and it’s way different than what they’re used to, so instead of having an open mind, they hate. On the other hand, plenty of fans of modern music show just as much disrespect back because the music back in the day was purely simpler with a much larger emphasis on lyricism, so the divide remains a constant no matter what.

As for the talents themselves, though, they seem to have a mutual respect for one another more often than not, and Juicy J has been one of the biggest advocates of newer emcees, which I have the utmost respect for. Not too long ago, Juicy J teamed up with one of my favorite modern artists Pi’erre Bourne to create a collaborative album entitled Space Age Pimpin, a project built with 11 songs that last just about 36 minutes, and if you’ve heard it, you know I’m not lying when I say it’s stuffed with hits.

This shouldn’t be surprising if you’re familiar with either of the two spitters, but “BBL” was definitely a stand-out track, so when I found out that it was transformed into a visual, I knew I needed to tune in. This one is full of nostalgic effects and an interesting setting as the two emcees hang out in a hospital. This isn’t just any old hospital, though, because all of the nurses are dressed in uniforms that barely cover anything, dancing around and vibing out with the two musicians every step of the way. While it’s a simple concept, it’s not something you’re going to want to miss if you’re a fan of the album, so make sure you take some time to peep the brand-new music video as soon as you can.
