As I’ve written about before, the true power of the internet exists in the realms of connectivity and visibility. Now more than ever, listeners are able to find music from far beyond the borders of their own country, and using this to my advantage, I’ve been scouring the internet for new music from overseas artists for some months now. In this time, one of my favorite acts that I’ve stumbled upon goes by the name of Retro X. Today, the Parisian talent is here with his hard-nosed single, “BBG.”
“BBG” first caught my attention due to the relentless energy of the instrumental. Right away, the song hits the ground running with some haymaker-inducing production, and in a fitting manner, Retro X follows right alongside with a slew of effortlessly smooth rhymes to match. In such a way, “BBG” is an undeniable banger from the start to the very end, perfectly encapsulating Retro X’s to-the-point, confident artistry, infectious cadences, and luxurious rhymes.
In the months to come, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for even more talent coming out of Paris, and I encourage all of our readers to broaden their tastes and do the same. If Retro X should act as an example, the city definitely has some talent that we need to be paying attention to!
