In general, when I hear authentic music, my initial reaction is usually to refer to it as “refreshing”. The reason that refreshing feels like the right word in these instances is because it entails that the song is a sort of breath of fresh air — something different from the norm, and more importantly, something comfortably and proudly true-to-self. Today, Massachusetts artist LiBossi is here on our pages to embody this characteristic with a smooth new project entitled BASEMENTS.
Over the span of 4 songs, this offering brings forth 4 different sounds and 4 unique emotions, offering listeners an unguarded look into the creative process and thoughts of LiBossi from his dreams to his concerns, his vices, and more. Refreshing as can be, this project sticks out as a must-listen not only for its galvanizing style and infectious energy, but also for its pure honesty. None of us are perfect, and LiBossi readily admits this, choosing not to hide behind any illusion or fragment of his genuine self. With this, BASEMENTS chooses to put it all out there for the world to hear, and for that, it deserves some appreciation as a solid addition to the MA native’s catalog.
