Vancouver has an outpouring of talent as of right now, a young hip-hop scene that is still finding its legs but is sure to produce some stars sooner rather than later. Two of the city’s most prolific artists, SIDE and AC, come together to combine their futuristic sounds into a low-key hit called “BALLIN'” that is sure to have everybody bouncing their heads.
SIDE has remained largely quiet since his debut project SIDEways, which dropped earlier this year. That album released one of my favorite posse-cuts of the year “Numb”, featuring ILLYMINIACHI and Teshalé, a record I highly recommend getting familiar with if you have not already. Both artists capitalize on their melodic talents, laying smooth verses that each reflect on their feelings towards the complicated relationships they’ve each had with women throughout their lives.
This track was produced by SIDE, a true multi-talented artist that can create beats to perfectly match his electronic-influenced sound. Stream the new single from SIDE below!
