Arc’Teryx Green Rayquaza – [Keshore]

I have come to realize that I may have a certain bias towards specific artists in the hip-hop realm due to having the opportunity to get to know them on a more personal level where they have gone from someone I’m a fan of to a friend. While there are numerous artists that I started listening to after getting the chance to meet them, one person that I had been listening to for years before actually linking up is Keshore, so my fandom began well before he became the homie.

My brother put me onto his music a handful of years ago and I was instantly mesmerized by his distinct personality that came equipped with an entire laundry list of skills, and considering he was as unique as he was back then, his individuality only continued to grow as the years went on. Fast forward to now, I have had the chance to watch him transform and evolve into the multifaceted talent that he proves to be time and time again, and no matter what twists and turns life has in store, he is always someone I know I can rely on for high-quality music that is simply irreplicable by any other copycat out there.

His projects are all out spectacles, but the same can be said of the countless loosies that he seems to drop out of thin air, so the most recent kenhy-directed, Sochildish and Jimi Jupiter-produced video single “Arc’Teryx Green Rayquaza” is a must-listen for anyone that considers themselves a fan of hip-hop. The beat is reminiscent of an early 2000s R&B jam with a smooth and cloudy melody and carefree, relaxed percussion.

In turn, Ke displays a higher-pitched set of vocals that are delivered melodically yet carefully as he confidently whispers a variety of intriguing lines that are even more enthralling thanks to his mixture of innovative cadences that work so perfectly over the instrumental’s rhythm. Although he is still considered underground, Ke’s tenure in the music world shows time and time again on this record thanks to his constantly out-of-the-box lines that build off of one another in such a fluently masterful fashion. The trippy video that comes with the track is just as amazing, making you feel like you’re watching an old-school Usher video on shrooms, so if that doesn’t inspire you to check this one out, I don’t know what possibly could.
