LA based artist Kilo Kish has released a compelling visual for her new song titled “American Gurl.” With a ‘space cowgurl’ theme the music video is fixated in a true Western location to contrast the shiny Met Gala esque appearance of Kish. Sonically the record employs a touch of retro-pop coupled with Kilo’s alt-indie influence. The lyrics themselves contain an element of mysteriousness which makes the track memorable both from a musical and cinematic standpoint. “American Gurl” may not generate as much hype as Estelle’s “American Boy,” but it certainly checks the boxes in all forms of quality assessment.
