After breaking out from Def Jam and putting in the hard work to reestablish himself independently, Big K.R.I.T. has really settled into the indie life nicely and is his having an incredibly consistent 2019. In January he dropped off his TDT compilation and now, he has his sights set on a summer takeover, already 2 for 2 on singles from his August-bound album K.R.I.T. iz Here.
Following the vehement “K.R.I.T. Here” the southern spitter returns with a different approach with the booty-call ready single, “Addiction.” Setting the stage for the salacious cut, Saweetie delivers a sultry, catchy hook that blends with a hypnotic backdrop from Rico Love & Don Corleone to create a sleek, late-night aura. Krizzle does a great job of matching the energy, but still carrying that southern “bite” with his stalwart, charismatic delivery. Speaking of charisma, who better to delivery some clever, x-rated bars (while still impressing with a remarkably dexterous flow) than Weezy F. Baby? Nobody, making him the perfect guest on a track that should draw a bigger, different audience to K.R.I.T.’s work just in time for the album.
