Since joining the Lyrical Lemonade family back in December, I’ve written many articles for some pretty amazing individuals in this music industry. Every song I throw up on the site gives listeners a chance to peep my musical taste and check out a lot of my favorite artists. Today though, for the first time, I’m writing about an artist who’s talent is so grandiose that’s it’s really hard to encapsulate it all with just words. Regardless, I’ll have to try.
If you haven’t heard of Heavy Mellow, then this article is specifically for you. Before stumbling upon his music, I can say that the quality of my life was hovering around the 10 range, but now it’s up to like 1,000. These are clearly some bold statements, but after checking him out for yourself, you’ll understand what I’m saying.
The Texas native is simply a musician in every sense of the word. He creates the sounds that we never knew we needed and inspires others to do the same. His main expertise is guitar, but it’s safe to say that he does it all. Back in March of this year, Heavy Mellow dropped a tape entitled Acid R&B Vol. 2. If you’re smart, you’ll know there is probably a Vol. 1 as well, which is right; I just found myself gravitating towards Vol. 2. This tape is filled with some of the most infectious vibes you will ever come across. Set to stellar beats, Heavy is able to create beautiful pieces through his guitar mastery. In a world where everything has a top line, Heavy Mellow shows that instruments can be the best vocalists sometimes.
On top of his growing solo career, Heavy Mellow also works as a full-time producer for some of the industries most prominent names out there. Back in 2015, he produced the platinum record “Young God” off of Halseys album “Badlands”. His extensive experience just speaks volumes to the creative that he is.
After hearing Acid R&B Vol. 2, there is no doubt in my mind that Heavy Mellow has the ability to make a serious name for himself in the industry as one of the best guitarist/producers around. I could keep going on, but it’s important that y’all get a taste of it for yourself. I’ve attached the Spotify link for Acid R&B Vol. 2 down below. Give it a listen and let us know what you think! If you’re a fan of Heavy Mellow, make sure to follow him on his social media accounts here and here!
