Not The Main Characters sounds like the name of a new sitcom rather than a dope pop triplet group. Last month as I was going through my normal dig for new music I can across their single “Club Penguin.” Not even going to lie the name of the group and the song is really what pulled me into giving it a listen. What eventually got me to stick around to pick through their discography was how their music is a form of alternative pop that appeals to the ear. NTMC continues this streak with the new release of their single “8ball.” This fresh track is the first that’s kicking off of their debut EP ‘Bad Things Come In Threes’. Casual listeners will probably categorize their sound as hyperpop, but in my opinion, I think it’s a variation of a hyperpop sound that still aligns with some of the traditional pop principles.
