2020 ON FIRE-[Yano]

“2020 ON FIRE” is the brand new track by Yano that couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. With so many crazy occurrences taking place in the world, Yano vocalizes the exact feeling that many people around the world have been experiencing for the majority of this year. 2020 has definitely been a year of uncertainty, but what I love most about this track, is that it also serves as inspiration to get through it.

Just last week before the song dropped, Yano actually got into a car accident that could’ve proven to be fatal. Without the hand of God being over that situation, we’re not sure what the outcome could’ve been but it’s evident that Yano is a walking miracle! To get in a car accident and still enthusiastically drop a song is just a testament of how much this music means to him. After having him share some reflective thoughts about the track, it’s so easy to see why this song is so special and why it had to come out when and how it did! I was able to grab a quote from Yano about the song and he explained,

“So 2020 on fire, (produced by Blu Majic beat co.) I wrote the song during quarantine, a week after the passing of my good friend, and local dj Griff Gotti god rest his soul. I was having a bit of cabin fever I guess and I was reflecting on everything that was going on during this first few months of quarantine. I wasn’t able to book a a studio session so I recorded at my boy Toke’s crib, so it is a home recording. My girlfriend,Anna Linn, accompanied me with some back round vocals on the chorus, those are her vocals you hear. And my producer Yuro snapped on the final master of the record. All in all it was a grueling process of having to be safe but still productive. But also a healing process if that makes sense. I feel like the song is something that mirrors what we’ve all been going through mentally and physically and it holds a special place in my heart. Especially after this accident I was just involved in… shit just hit different now…”

“2020 ON FIRE” might just be my favorite song to date by Yano. From the production all the way to his vocal tone and delivery, he really doesn’t miss whatsoever. I’m a huge fan of this one and I think you all will be as well. I’ve attached the Spotify link down below, so give it a listen and let us know what you think!
